Successful ARGE Conference in Rotterdam

Hans Weissenböck, Chairman of ARGE, welcomed more than 60 delegates from 10 countries to the 66th ARGE Conference in Rotterdam. This year’s host was the Algemene branchenvereniging VHS. The developments in the field of standardization for building hardware, where new realization chances are currently emerging, met with particularly great interest. A guest lecture on the subject of 3D printing informed the participants about modern production processes that go far beyond prototyping. On the second day, Achim Kieker, Secretary General of ARGE, reported on the changing framework conditions of the EPDs. Stefan Zintgraf, CTO Assa Abloy DACH, summarized the results of the Working Group Master Key Systems relating to the basic data protection regulation.

The eagerly awaited lecture by Prof. Balkenende, former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, was very well received by the audience. The speech, peppered with numerous anecdotes, showed in an entertaining way that entrepreneurship and sustainability are not contradictory.The conference concluded with the regulations of the annual meeting. Next year the Fachverband Schloss- und Beschlagindustrie e.V. will host the ARGE conference.
