The 62nd Annual ARGE Conference

Conference Summary

ARGE held its 62nd conference in Veneto, Northern Italy, this year with a host of members joining the annual gathering of associations from across Europe.

Proving to be every bit as successful as last year’s conference in Budapest, ARGE was delighted to receive a high turnout, as it discussed some of the industry’s most pressing issues.
Having committed to delivering generic EPDs by the summer of 2015, this year’s conference was pivotal in ensuring the delivery of ARGE sustainable roadmap.

Social Programme

This year’s annual conference saw delegates engage in an exciting social programme…

On the 1st day of the conference partners had the opportunity to explore the old city of Padua, followed by a Gala dinner in the evening held in Abano Terme.

The next day consisted of a visit to the SILCA factory in Treviso, with an afternoon excursion to the Prosecco region for a wine tasting experience.

There was also the option for delegates to explore the sights and sounds of Venice, with a guided tour taking place on the 6th.

Padua

The setting for Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, the picturesque city of Padua is also famed for its 800 year old University, where Galileo Galilei was once a lecturer.

Prosecco Region

Famed for its sparkling Prosecco wine, the vineyards to the north of Venice are found in some of the most attractive valleys in the region. While Champagne refers to the region, Prosecco is the name of the grape used to create the popular wine.
