Have your say on Declaration of Performance Draft

In the build up to the ARGE conference in September, I am becomming increasingly involved in work on the harmnisation of construction works.

Together with about 40 other national delegates and construction experts, I joined a hearing of the Standing Committee for Construction. The group was invited by Tapani Mikkeli, who is the head of sector, Sustainable Construction of the European Commission, DG Enterprise & Industry.

Tapani presented a revised version of Annex III of the CPR, which is the template for a DoP. That draft was widely discussed by myself and the experts in attendance. Particular topics, which came up were, for instance, the former request to define “type, batch or serial number” of a product was deleted in the new model. In addition, some of the headings have been changed, in line with the form of the declared performances and the references.

That was on Monday 15th July in Brussels and since then I’ve had many interesting discussions with fellow ARGE members, and now I’m hoping you will also offer your opinion on the revised document.

Any comments you make can be brought into discussion by ARGE until September 9th, when the group next meets. Following that meeting the revised version is expected to come into force toward the end of the year.

So, I urge you, this is your chance to have a say on the revisions – you can fnd the updated document on our member download page. Leave a comment on this forum and I, on behalf of ARGE will ensure your views are heard.
